Bishop Canning Vs AFC Corsham Leopards
By Ian Pike
Hardest Game so Far
Today's game against Bishop Canning was by far the hardest game we have played in some time and going with a small squad soon showed as the boys started to run out of energy, but to their credit the Leopards all played brilliantly and should be proud of the result.
From the start of the game the Leopards went into a 1 nil lead from yet another goal by Tom in what was a very slick piece of football involving a few players and passing quickly and moving off the ball. What a great start. But then Bishop Canning came into the game soon went into the lead with two quick fired goals end of the second quarter. We mentioned at the start of the game is wasn't about the score but to take what we've done in training and produce it on the field which the boys did. The Leopards won the first quarter, then Bishop Canning won Quarters two and three with some wonderful football and some great goal. At the end of the third quarter the Leopards managed to score their second goal as Ollie swooped in after a goal mouth scramble to score his first goal of the season, celebrated like he'd won the World Cup so well done Ollie.
The fourth quarter stated and as Bishop Canning were ahead 5 - 2 and credit to their manager he was giving his players specific things to do on the pitch from (certain turns, robona kicks, a number of touches before they could shoot) which certainly helped the Leopards out and also reduce the score and which made it in to a much more enjoyable game for all the boys.
