AFC Corsham is incredibly proud to celebrate two of our young players who have taken it upon themselves to support the club’s future by raising money for the Leafy Lane 3G pitch project.
£335 Raised Through Determination and Community Spirit
The two Wolf brothers recently completed their own fundraising effort for the club, raising an impressive £335 through the AFC Corsham fundraising page. Their campaign has now closed, with the funds being transferred to support the new 3G facility.
Fundraising is not always easy. It takes initiative, effort and the confidence to ask others to support something you believe in. The boys showed exactly those qualities, demonstrating the same commitment off the pitch that we encourage on it.
Everyone at the club would like to say a huge thank you to them and their family for the fantastic effort. Their contribution will directly help move the project closer to reality.
3G Project Update
As many of you know, the club is currently deep into the process of delivering a new full-size floodlit 3G pitch at Leafy Lane, which will dramatically improve year-round training and match opportunities for our players and the wider Corsham community.
There has been important progress over the past few weeks.
Following an original objection from the Wiltshire Council Ecology team relating to the floodlights and their potential impact on local bat habitats, the club has worked with planners to revise aspects of the proposal. The updated plans have now been resubmitted for review by the statutory consultees.
These plans are currently out for consultation until 10 April, after which we expect a final decision from Wiltshire Council.
At the same time, the project will be reviewed by the Football Foundation panel in March, where we hope to secure the major grant funding required for the facility.
Both processes are progressing positively, and we remain confident about the outcome.
The Fundraising Challenge
While the grant funding is critical, the project can only proceed if the club is able to demonstrate strong community partnership funding.
Our fundraising target on the club’s GoodHub page is £54,000.
So far the response has been fantastic, with just over £11,000 already raised thanks to the generosity and support of players, families, local businesses and initiatives like the one led by the Wolf brothers.
However, there is still a long way to go.
How Every Member Can Help
