The boys did really well once again this week soaking up some good pressure from Chippenham within the first 10/15 mins and creating a couple of chances ourselves. Once the boys settled down they began to take some control in the game and managed to score two great goals from Freddie and Radek. Going in at half time 2-0 up which for a Close first half still could of been more if we got a bit of luck. A couple of great saves and some quick reactions to come of his line from Lucas kept his goal well.
The second half we seemed to take the game to Chippenham with some fantastic passing and running with the ball down the wings. We scored goals from Freddie (x3), Radek, Danny and the biggest cheer of the whole game when Charlie grabbed himself his first goal for the team with a coolly take finish from inside the box. I was so pleased for him especially after the way he played today. I thought he did really well today up front bringing other players in to the attack and holding the ball well and the goal shows if you try hard and put the effort in then the rewards will come! Well done Charlie.
We changed a lot of players around after roughly 40mins as we thought the game was pretty much won (which I know is risky but we had faith in the boys to deal with playing in some unfamiliar positions). It didn’t seem to halt the great performance the boys put in which pleases both myself and Frazer. We finished the game 1-8 winners which means after 3 league games we have 2 wins and a draw, I hope you think the same but the boys have improved over the past 12 months and the addition of a couple of new players (old players) have helped improve the squad. Great season so far and some great team performances to make the results even more pleasing.
