Devizes v Jaguars

This was one of the best games the team has played all season. We had late withdrawal of players on top of an already depleted team meaning we only had 7 players but those 7 players worked their socks off and myself and Frazer couldn’t be more proud of them after today. We conceded 3 quick goals and it did look like we would take a battering but with some more instruction and more importantly lots of effort for the boys relying on the things learnt in training they composed themselves and started to work things out. As a group they defended and tried to work things out up front and produced some great passing combinations and started to create decent chances. The boys started to challenge Devizes all over the pitch and scored 2 great goals in the first half and were unlucky not to score more. At half time we went in 4-2 down which was a fair return for the efforts and also the extra players Devizes had but we felt we could still manage to get a result. The second half was another great effort. We changed things around a bit because the lads were struggling because of the effort they put in. It ended up that for most of the half we were on top breaking up play and countering. We ended the game 8-4 after a couple of late goals from Devizes but the score line doesn’t show how well we played and how close we came to pulling off a result. Every player played for each other and should take great pride in how they played.
